Day at the Deep

We are still in half term so wanted somewhere to take the kids for the day.
We are based in Sheffield, and are lucky to be within 10 mins of the M1 motorway, with the weather forecast rubbish as ever we decided to head to The Deep.
The price of a family (2 adults, 2 kids) ticket is £39.50, but for this you get return entry for a year.
Both of the children had recently been on school trips but with the aid of the superhero treasure hunt it kept them entertained, we wandered round for a good few hours, the penguins and massive sharks being the highlight for us. The kids loved the huge tank and the tunnel and insisted on walking up the stairs "to get a better look".
Once all the fun of the fish had passed we decided to have lunch in the cafe, the kids had chicken nuggets and chips and my hubby and me both had a cooked lunch, the total cost of lunch was less that £23 which we thought was very reasonable, there are also picnic areas so you can bring your own food.
I would recommend The Deep as a family day out, although not the cheapest place, it is very good value for money, with the year pass, and proper Yorkshire size portions of food.
Oh yeah and we did find a certain famous fish whilst we were there........
